New leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge suggest a flush camera bump and 100000+ points on the Antutu benchmark
New set of images have surfaced before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy
S7 and S7 Edge. The upcoming duo has been in the news for almost six
months now and we already know that Samsung will be announcing the two
phones at its 'Unpacked' event on February 21, at the Mobile World
Congress in Barcelona. The new leak does suggest the phone will have a
slightly curved back, like the current phone lineup. The images also
suggest the camera bump which is present in the current S6 lineup has
been flattened. The camera now sits more flush with the back surface,
which going by the leaked images, apparently looks like glossy plastic.
With the leaked images, Samsung’s alleged Galaxy S7 Edge was also seen
posting a record high Antutu score. Going by the image, the phone
bearing model SM-G9350 scores a massive 1,34,704 point on Antutu. It is
not clear whether the shown phone is powered by a Exynos 8890
or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. If rumours are to believed it is more
than likely that Samsung will launch both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
with both the mentioned SoC. The Exynos variant is supposed to be sold
in markets like in India and South-east Asia, whereas the Snapdragon 820
powered variant might be made available in western markets like US.
All previous and current rumours suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S7
will house a 5.1-inch display with and the S7 Edge will house a
5.5-inch display. Both phones with their respective displays are
supposed to offer a 2560 x 1440p resolution. It is more than likely that
Samsung will be using the latest generation of its Super AMOLED panels
for the phone. With the new phones, the company is also expected to
showcase its iteration of “3D touch display”.
Both phone are expected to offer 4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of
on-board storage and the phone might get a micro-SD card slot as well.
While details about the front-facing camera are still unknown, it is
rumored that the new S7 lineup will get a 12MP BRITECELL camera. This
new camera sensor was unveiled by Samsung last year and is supposed to
offer better low light imagery. Samsung claimed that the BRITECELL
sensor is 17% thinner than the current gen camera sensors. This might be
reason behind the flush camera enclosure on the leaked images we
mentioned earlier.
Previous rumours suggested that the phone will be waterproof. According to a latest listing by Zauba,
that rumour could indeed be true. The listing suggests that waterproof
components of an alleged phone are being shipped from South Korea to
India. This news should be taken with a pinch of salt as it does not
mean that the components are for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 or
Samsung phone in general.
Awesome 1 lakh+ score !
